Samsung used its IFA 2015 press conference to tease a new product going by the name of Galaxy View.
The firm promised an October announcement for a device in a new category, while briefly showing a host of images to the media in attendance.
Judging by those images it appears the Galaxy View will be a large screened device with a Microsoft Surface Pro-like kickstand.
However, little else is clear. Could we be looking at a large-screened tablet like the 18.4-inch device code-named Tahoe leaked last month?
Could it be a general purpose display allowing users to plug in additional gadgets wherever they go? Or is this Samsung’s effort to create a rival for the popular Surface Pro?
This isn’t the first time Samsung has used a press conference to tease other launches. The company chose to preview the Gear S2 smartwatch at the Note 5/Galaxy S6 Edge 6+ event in August, before officially announcing it this week.
Plenty of details emerged about the Gear S2 before it was made official, so we’d be surprised if more information about the Galaxy View wasn’t forthcoming in the very near feature.
For now, Samsung, you have our intrigue.
