Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini to land one month after S4?

A Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini could land just one month after the widely expected April Samsung Galaxy S4 release date, latest reports have suggested.

Set to be a smaller, reduced spec and cheaper imitation of the company’s flagship Samsung Galaxy S4 handset, the previously rumoured Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini has once again been teased, this time playing host to a speculative May arrival.

Whilst it is expected that Samsung will follow the Samsung Galaxy S4 with a smaller, cheaper handset building on the S4 branding, much like the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini has done for the Samsung Galaxy S3, a May arrival, just weeks after the flagship device’s launch appears somewhat circumspect with such a timeframe likely to hinder rather than enhance sales.

That said, latest reports have claimed that Samsung has demanded that Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini accessories “need to be done by week 21” in order to hit the company’s launch schedule. The touted week 21 would see the device land between May 20 and May 26.

With Samsung yet to offer any official word on the device, and with no Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini specs yet to have done the rounds, little is currently known about the mooted device.

Tipped to be part of a trio of new Galaxy branded devices under construction, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is said to be part of Samsung’s ‘Project J’, a collection of gadgets that reportedly includes the Samsung Galaxy S4, the Mini and a new Samsung Smartwatch dubbed the Samsung Galaxy Altius.

With claimed images of the Samsung Smartwatch hitting the web earlier today, it is rumoured that the Samsung Galaxy Altius will land as a rival to the mooted Apple iWatch, offering users wrist-worn access to a number of smartphone and email alerts as well as playing host to an integrated MP3 player.

Rumoured to boast a 500 x 500p touchscreen LCD display, the Samsung Smartwatch is said to run Google’s Android OS and will launch later this year. Samsung has yet to comment on the reports.
