Samsung Galaxy S4 release date set for post MWC 2013

The Samsung Galaxy S4 release date has been confirmed for post MWC 2013, as the Korean handset manufacturer reveals it will not hold a press event at the Barcelona based conference.

Launch venue for the Samsung Galaxy S2, Samsung has announced that it will not be utilising the launch platform of Mobile World Congress this year, with the company reportedly confirming that it will not host its usual Samsung Unpacked press conference at MWC 2013.

Citing people “familiar with the matter,” Pocketlint has claimed there will be no Samsung MWC 2013 press conference, with the Samsung Galaxy S3 manufacturer instead opting only to have a presence on the show floor to demonstrate low key additions to its smartphone and tablet ranges.

Whilst a Samsung Galaxy S4 release date had been previously tipped to be announced at MWC 2013, it is widely expected that the eagerly awaited Samsung Galaxy S4 release date will now be officially unveiled at its own dedicated launch event with a late April, early May arrival having been repeatedly tipped.

Whilst Samsung has as yet failed to comment on the reported lack of a Samsung MWC 2013 press conference, HTC yesterday revealed that it would be holding its own press conference ahead of the Barcelona based expo in order to capitalise on less crowded coverage competition. The company’s new flagship HTC M7 is expected to be formally unveiled on February 19.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Rumours
Arguably the most eagerly awaited handset on the horizon, a flurry of Samsung Galaxy S4 rumours have circulated in recent weeks with the handset, which is expected to rival the similarly mythical iPhone 5S, tipped to play host to everything from an unbreakable, flexible display to an eight-core processor.

Whilst reports of a curved display Samsung Galaxy S4 release have been widely rubbished, the Samsung Galaxy S4 specs sheet is believed to see the handset line up as the first device to boast the CES 2013 unveiled eight-core Exynos 5 octa processor.

With 2GB of RAM and a 4.99 Full HD 1080p Super AMOLED display also on the Samsung Galaxy S4 rumours hit list, the as yet unconfirmed handset has been tipped to feature a 13-megapixel rear-mounted camera with the now standard 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities in tow.
