Price and spec details for the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy Alpha appear to have leaked through a UK retailer.

We've seen numerous rumours and leaks concerning the Samsung Galaxy Alpha in recent days, suggesting it to be a relatively compact super-phone aimed at stealing the iPhone 6's thunder.

Just yesterday we saw some leaked photos of the Alpha, which appeared to back-up that assessment.

Now UK online retailer MobileFun has 'accidentally' spilled the beans, posting the Samsung Galaxy Alpha as available for pre-order before swiftly pulling the listing.

But not, of course, before some enterprising types took a screenshot.

It seems the Samsung Galaxy Alpha come with a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display, producing 320PPI. If accurate, that suggests that Samsung is rolling back in the resolution war (probably temporarily) to a 720p standard.

The Alpha's internal specs appear to be anything but a step back, though. According to the leak, they include Samsung's own octa-core Exynos processor backed by 2GB of RAM.

There'll also be a 12-megapixel camera with "super-fast autofocus," along with a front-facing 2-megapixel example.

32GB of internal storage, 4G, Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and Samsung's fingerprint scanning technology round-out the package.

But the main talking point here will be the Alpha's design - or as the leak puts it, the "stunning metallic design."

This could be the first Samsung smartphone to incorporate premium metal into its makeup, which is something critics of Samsung's plastic-led approach have been calling for in recent years.

If this leaked retail listing is to be believed, that premium construction will come with a premium price tag. It was posted as being available for £549, which is iPhone money.

With a predicted release date of August 13, we may have less than two weeks to find out for sure.
