OnePlus 2 gets a price cut
OnePlus has announced a price cut for its current flagship phone, the OnePlus 2.
We found the OnePlus 2 to be one of the best phones of 2015, and a real step-up in quality from the original OnePlus One. It was also a bit of a bargain, with prices starting from £239.
Of course, that was for the 16GB model, and with no microSD support, an upgrade to the £289 64GB was pretty much essential. Still great, but well outside of that magic sub-£250 mark.
OnePlus has just announced a major change to its pricing. You can now get the 64GB model (the 16GB model has taken a hike) for just £249. That’s a £40 price cut.
You might think that sucks for anyone who bought their OnePlus 2 in recent days, but the company has generously promised to refund the difference for anyone who bought a handset in the last 15 days.
What’s more, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei claims that this latest price cut is “forever.”
According to Pei, the cost of producing the OnePlus 2 “has never been lower,” seemingly thanks to the careful scaling up permitted by OnePlus’s invite system.

In addition to this permanent price drop, OnePlus is rolling out a couple of offers to mark Valentine’s Day. For starters, Anyone purchasing a new OnePlus device will currently get a free StyleSwap Cover or OnePlus X Case.
With free standard shipping for orders over $100 (that’s both the OnePlus 2 and the OnePlus X, then), now would seem to be the ideal time to pick up a OnePlus.
