Roll7, the studio behind 2D skater OlliOlli, has announced a new title called Not A Hero.
OlliOlli developer has announced it is working on a brand new project called Not A Hero.
The title is going to be a cover-based shooter and will be initially released for PC via Steam, GOG and the Humble Store in May.
After that it will be released later in the year on PS4 and PS Vita, but there isn’t a release window for those platforms as yet.
A beta version of Not A Hero will be released in the UK and the US next month.
Not A Hero will feature a quick snap cover system in the OlliOlli style “two-and-a-quarter dimension” presentation, which will allow you to dodge enemy fire and strategically plan your moves through the level.
You’ll also need to be careful about when you reload. If an enemy hears you, they’ll charge your position and take you out.
The cast will include a range of “different total badasses each with their own distinct gameplay style and abilities”. That may mean a shotgun expert, a katana king or even a bare fisted maniac.
Roll7 also promises that Not A Hero will offer dynamic levels, which will offer up primary objectives, secondary goals and even random mid-level events that will turn the gameplay on its head.

The developer is also still working on OlliOlli 2, due to be a timed exclusive for PS4 and PS Vita when it eventually arrives – there’s no release date as yet.
The original OlliOlli is currently available on PS4, PS3, PS Vita, PC, Mac and Linux.
Roll7 is due to launch Xbox One, Wii u and 3DS editions of the original later this year.
