The LG G Flex UK release date has finally been announced, with the curved handset arriving in Europe in February.
The European smartphone market can enjoy the LG G Flex from next month, but LG hasn’t yet set a precise date for its arrival.
Currently, the G Flex is only available in Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore, but the UK, Germany, Italy, France, Sweden and Austria among other European countries will soon be able to buy the flexible smartphone.
“The introduction of the LG G Flex in Europe demonstrates our confidence in the global marketplace for a curved smartphone”, said Dr. Jong-seok Park, LG Mobile President and CEO. “As a premium smartphone, the G Flex will further establish LG as a brand that offers something unique for every consumer segment. This is a device that is guaranteed to start a conversation wherever it goes.”
Carphone Warehouse are offering the LG G Flex from £57 per month on a 24-month contract, or a whopping £689.95 SIM-free.
The LG G Flex has a 6-inch Plastic OLED display that curves to the natural contours of your face. It also utilises what LG calls “a self-healing coating” on the back to help repair damage caused by “minor” scratches and nicks.
It is powered by a 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor processor, Adreno 330 graphics and 2GB of RAM.
Offering 32GB of internal storage, the G Flex has a curved 3,500mAh battery and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
It also has a 13-megapixel rear camera coupled with a 2.1-megapixel video-calling option. The G Flex is equipped with Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE compatibility.
