iPhone 6 pre-orders suggest two models for Sept 9 launch

iPhone 6 pre-orders have gone live in China, suggesting Apple will launch two iPhone 6 models at the September 9 event.

There have been varying rumours as to when Apple will lift the lid on its two iPhone 6 models. Some suggested the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 would be given the spotlight on Tuesday, with the larger 5.5-inch iPhone 6L or iPhone 6 Air arriving a little later.

However, Chinese retailer China Mobile has put its iPhone 6 pre-order page live ahead of the Apple flagship’s official launch.

On its website, China Mobile Beijing is offering consumers the choice between the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 models. However, it doesn’t offer any iPhone 6 images or a release date for either iteration.

As of last night, the page had already attracted over 33,000 orders, despite the lack of concrete release date information.

It is looking more and more likely that the pair of iPhone 6 models will be available soon after the launch even on September 9.

Rumours and previous iPhone release schedules suggest the iPhone 6 will go on sale on Friday September 19.

With the iPhone 6 launch less than a week away, we always expected the rumours, leaks and other gossip to ramp up a notch.

There have been a lot of photos and video footage of pre-assembly iPhone 6 models, giving us a good look at the handset’s new rounded form factor and ultra slim profile.

The iPhone 6 is expected to feature the new, battery saving Apple A8 processor running the latest iOS 8 operating system with Apple HealthKit and HomeKit API support.
