iOS 7 update release expected at 6pm

Today’s eagerly awaited iOS 7 update release will see the software overhaul start rolling out in the UK from around 6pm, it has been suggested.

With Apple having failed to announce precise timings of exactly when the iOS 7 update release will kick off, during last week’s announcement the Cupertino based company stated only that the software would be made available for iDevice users today, September 18.

Preceding Friday’s joint iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C release date, today’s iOS 7 update release will see existing iPhone and iPad owners able to make the jump to the new software.

Compatible with the iPhone 4, 4S and iPhone 5 as well as the iPad 2 upwards and the iPad mini, the iOS 7 update is set to be made available as a free download. Bringing a raft of new features including improved multitasking and additional Siri functionality, the software update marks the biggest overhaul of the iOS system since launch.

Based on past iOS update rollouts, RedmondPie has predicted that the iOS 7 update release will kick off at 6pm BST. Other key expected rollout times include 10am in Apple’s native California and 1am tomorrow morning in China, a country Apple is known to be looking to increase its presence.

I have tried downloading iOS 7 for both my iPad 3 and my iPhone 4 but the same message comes up - "Software Update Failed - An error occurred downloading iOS 7."

Can't install as service unsvailable??? What a joke!!!
