HTC One M8 release date and name confirmed by Carphone Warehouse

The HTC One M8 release date and name has been confirmed by Carphone Warehouse ahead of the official HTC unveiling.

Carphone Warehouse has beaten HTC to the post by revealing the HTC One M8 release date will be held the same day as launch.

The UK retailer revealed that six Carphone Warehouse stores will stock the new HTC One M8 immediately after the London and New York launch events from around 4pm on Tuesday March 25.

“Shortly after [the event], the new HTC One (M8) handsets will be transported directly from the venue of the launch announcement to six Carphone Warehouse stores in London,” reads the press release. “Westfield Stratford, Westfield White City, Oxford Circus, Centrepoint and Tottenham Court Road stores will all be hosting special events celebrating the HTC launch with entertainment and giveaways as well as the first chance for customers to get their hands on the new device.”

Selfridges’ own Carphone Warehouse store will also stock the new HTC One M8 at the same time for you to purchase.

Customers will also be able to order the HTC One M8 over the phone at that time, before it becomes fully available online and from all Carphone Warehouse stores “shortly afterwards.”

“The HTC One is an award winning handset that set the bar for design during 2012 and made many sit up and take notice – the new HTC One M8 is likely to continue that trend and will cement HTC’s future as a heavy-hitting smartphone manufacturer,” said a Carphone Warehouse spokesperson.

The UK retailer also provided the second official confirmation of the HTC One M8 name, following Three’s revelations earlier this month.

Carphone Warehouse didn’t disclose how much the HTC One M8 will cost, either SIM-free or on contract.

It’s not clear whether it is only Carphone Warehouse that will stock the HTC One M8 from the March 25 launch. We expect all others will have availability from March 26.
