Starting today, Elder Scrolls Online is holding a free weekend across PS4 and PC, and it's open to everyone.

While it’s only Wednesday, Bethesda has labelled the event as an “extended weekend,” so that’s what we’re calling it.

It is currently unavailable on Xbox One, although the publisher has said it will reveal details on a similar event for Xbox players in the near future.

You won’t require a PlayStation Plus membership to partake in the event, so the only thing to do is download the trial directly from PSN.

You can check out a full breakdown of the promotion's content below:

  • Access to the full The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited base game

  • 500 Crowns to spend in the Crown Store on fun costumes, unique pets, helpful scrolls, and more

  • Any characters created, Crown Packs purchased, or Crown Store items bought, as well as any progress made during the free play weekend, will carry over if the player purchases the game

The free weekend will last until November 20th on both platforms, so you’ve got a solid four days to wander the plains of Tamriel.
