Developer EA has issued invitations to an upcoming March 26 launch event, hinting that a Battlefield 4 release date is set to be unveiled.
Coinciding with the Game Developers Conference, the media invites have pointed to a San Francisco based unveiling, with EA widely expected to out the Battlefield 4 release date, a title previously tipped to hit retailers in the latter half of 2013.
A follow-on to the 2011 smash hit Battlefield 3, EA has as yet to offer many details on the upcoming title beyond the fact that it will be a numerical addition to the hugely successful Battlefield franchise. Although the invite does not name the game directly, given the similar styling to the Battlefield 3 box art, it is expected that the grand unveiling will see Battlefield 4 announced.
Whilst details of game remain scarce, EA previously revealed that those who pre-ordered Medal of Honor: Warfighter would receive advanced, Beta release access to the upcoming Battlefield 4 offering.
Although it is as yet unclear what platforms the Battlefield 4 release will land for, given EA’s lack of showing at the recent PS4 unveiling, it has been suggested that the publisher could be set to announce an exclusivity partnership for the Xbox 720.
Citing “two sources who wished to remain anonymous,” recent reports have claimed that “EA has secured a partnership with the Xbox firm.” It was suggested that this partnership could revolved around the upcoming Battlefield 4 release date.
