Z4 Aurora is an Android-powered projector with built-in speakers

Projectors usually need hooking up to a set-top box, games console or other device to turn your lounge into a home cinema. But not the Z4 Aurora.
It runs Android, so connect it to your Wi-Fi and you can access Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Spotify, and any other service that has an Android app.
There’s no plugging in to a source device required. So you can plonk it on your coffee table while you watch a film without trailing cables everywhere, then pack it away when you’re done.
Usually you have to arrange your room around your projector – or even ceiling mount the projector – so the Z4’s standalone nature is a real benefit.

It gives a picture of up 300 inches across, with image quality of 4K or 1080p HD. Built-in Harmon Kardon speakers should provide decent audio. And that platter on the top? That looks like a turntable?
It’s surpassed its funding goal and still has a month left. Pledge $449 (£311) and it can be yours on an early bird. It will ship in June, so better invest in some blackout curtains.
