You won’t have to pay up front for Oculus Rift pre-orders
Oculus VR has confirmed that you won’t have to pay up front for an Oculus Rift pre-order.
Customers who want to pre-order an Oculus Rift will not be charged any money until the order actually ships – just like an Amazon pre-order.
The confirmation came via Oculus VR founder Palmer Luckey on Twitter:

Luckey also added that anyone who pre-orders also secures themselves a spot for the Oculus Touch controllers.

The Oculus Touch controllers are designed specifically for virtual reality, but won’t actually launch until the second half of 2016. However, you will be able to use the bundled Xbox One controller until then.

Oculus Rift pre-orders go live this afternoon at 4pm January 6, 2016.
There are still no pricing details available, but Luckey has previously stated that it will cost over $350 (£240).
Luckey also said that there was “no chance” Oculus Rift pre-orders would sell out, adding that the company would continue to “keep taking preorders for as long as people want EVE: Valkyrie!”
