Xbox One sales allegedly at least 18 million units

According to a new report, Xbox One sales are in excess of 18 million units worldwide.
Although official Xbox One sales figures are still a mystery, a new report suggests the worldwide sales figures are in excess of 18 million.
The new figure comes courtesy of GameSpot, which reports that an ZDNet reporter heard from sources that a new stat for Windows 10 revealed that there at 18 million “active” Xbox One consoles.
Of course, this number is far from official, and the reporter was unable to verify the figure with her sources.
Microsoft has confirmed that “active” refers to any machine that has been turned on and connected to the internet within the previous 28 days.
That means, if you haven’t connected your Xbox One to the internet within the past month it’s not actually counted as an active console though. So this figure may be quite off.

Microsoft saw 180 million active Windows 10 PCs and 1 million Windows 10 phones during the same period, along with those 18 million Xbox One consoles.
The company announced back in October that it would no longer be providing Xbox One sales figures, saying that it would no longer use such figures as a
measurement of success.
PS4 sales on the other hand are still being announced, with the latest for worldwide sales sitting just under 36 million with 5.7 million units sold over the Christmas period.
