Microsoft’s long-awaited Windows 10 finally arrived last month, but we’ve had little in the way of information regarding its success.
Fortunately, that’s a metric we now have a measure on, and it turns on Windows 10 has had seriously impressive uptake.
Windows 10 is now installed on a staggering 75 million devices across the globe.
That’s a bold boast considering the brand new OS was only made available four weeks ago today.
We know this cheery stat thanks to a tweet from Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s Corporate VP of Windows and Devices Group:

Don’t forget that 14 million machines upgraded to Windows 10 within the first 24 hours of it being made available, so Microsoft’s OS has seen success from the off.
We should note that Mehdi’s number could have potentially been higher, but Microsoft decided to roll out the operating system in waves.
As such, some consumers still haven’t received the update, despite potentially being willing to upgrade.

Mehdi also revealed a number of other Windows 10 facts:
- Windows 10 is running in 192 countries, virtually every country on the planet
- More than 90,000 unique PC or tablet models have upgraded to Windows 10
- Even some devices manufactured in 2007 have upgraded to Windows 10
- More than 122 years of gameplay have been streamed from Xbox One to Windows 10 devices
- 10 million achievements unlocked: Microsoft Solitaire Collection, Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta
- In response to ‘tell me a joke’, Cortana has told over half a million jokes since launch
- Windows Store for Windows 10 has seen 6X more app downloads per device than Windows 8
