Virgin Media has just announced it’s making available Sky Movies on Android.
The firm offered Sky services to iOS users three months ago, meaning Android was left out in the cold until today.
Fortunately Virgin Media customers with Android devices can now access the service via the Sky Movies Android app.
Some Android users will be disappointed to find however that there’s still no Sky Sports service on offer for their handsets.
iPhone and iPad users already have access to both Sky Sports and Sky Movies on their devices, but Android is only getting the Sky Movies treatment for now.
Virgin Media says it’s ‘working hard’ to bring Sky Sports to Android, but there’s no set date just yet.
The company also announced an updated version of the Sky Movies app would be landing on the service in early 2015, touting additional Android Lollipop functionality.
It’s not yet clear what this means, but it’s assured to boast the ‘material design’ aesthetic Google has talked up for its latest mobile OS.
So how do you get access to Sky Movies on Android? First you’ll need the app, as well as an M Virgin TV package at a minimum.
From there you can then log-in and enjoy unbridled access to the entire roster of Sky Movies fare.
