Vertu prides itself on turning out pricey smartphones built from high-quality materials, but performance is never able to match up to the luxurious exterior.
Fortunately, the company is seemingly trying to ditch its low-spec image, and a newly uncovered benchmark result might reveal how.
A mystery device called the “Vertu V06” has turned up on Geekbench, sporting an impressive roster of high-end specs in tow.
“V06” is a new branding for the British smartphone manufacturer, and the specs on show don’t represent any of the company’s existing products.
According to the benchmark results,
What’s more, the device looks set to carry 4GB of super-fast LPDDR4 memory, which is as premium as RAM comes in today’s current smartphone market.
In fact, the inclusion of this amount of RAM leads us to believe that this might not be a smartphone at all, but perhaps a tablet. Most modern smartphones use between 1GB and 3GB of RAM.

Unfortunately, the Vertu V06 benchmark readout doesn’t reveal much else about the mystery device.
This handset, if real, would follow on from Vertu’s recent efforts in the high-end space: the Signature Touch.
The Signature Touch offered a Snapdragon 801 processor, a Full HD 4.7in display and a 13-megapixel camera.
With that spec sheet now beginning to look slightly dated, it wouldn’t be surprising to learn that the company had a successor in the works with the Vertu V06.
It’s worth noting, however, that Vertu’s devices don’t come cheap, so you better start saving ahead of time.
The Signature Touch costs £11,800, for example, so a successor would likely match that price tag.
