Universal reveals the movies coming in 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has announced its plans to release some of its biggest movies in 4K Ultra HD.
The media giant revealed a roster of upcoming titles that would arrive in the high-resolution format, all of which will be available to buy before the end of 2016.
Some of the movies pegged for 4K release include Jason Bourne, The Huntsman: Winter’s War, Warcraft, Everest, Lucy, and Lone Survivor.
UPHE will also release a number of Imax films for 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, while other Universal films will also be available in High Dynamic Range.

“4K Ultra HD represents a giant leap forward in movie-watching,” said Eddie Cunningham, UPHE President.
Cunningham continued: “The format’s stunning resolution and peak luminance, combined with its deep bench of industry support, enables us to deliver to the consumer a truly differentiated viewing experience, one that has the capability to power the future of home entertainment.”
The first 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disc players are already available to buy in the UK. As a result, Universal rivals like Paramount and Lionsgate have already started releasing 4K discs.
