Take a sneak peek at the new Xbox One UI

Microsoft has given us a sneak peek at the new Xbox One dashboard and UI ahead of its release in November.
There’s a huge Xbox One update coming in November and it will bring, among other things, a revamped UI to Microsoft’s latest console.
And ahead of that update, Microsoft has detailed all the features that are inbound, but also given us a first look at the new Xbox One UI – as you can see above.
The New Xbox One Experience, as it’s being called will be powered by Windows 10. Microsoft explains that Windows 10 will elevate the gaming experience and improve the speed of the Xbox One UI giving you access to popular gaming features up to 50 per cent faster.
“We’re introducing a faster and easier interface to provide access to games and apps you’ve recently used,” explained Mike Ybarra, Director of Program Management at Xbox. “At launch you’ll be able to more easily share your achievements and game clips with the Xbox Live community, see whether your friends are playing the same games and get one-click access to Game Hubs to get news and updates directly from the developers and community themselves.”

The November update will also bring the highly-anticipated Xbox One backwards compatibility functionality.
The OneGuide is also being revamped to show instant, fullscreen TV listings, while the new Guide will offer shortcuts to essential apps such as Friends and Settings.
This new update will be offered to Preview Program members first, so anyone in the program should look out for an Xbox Live message to gain access.
Here’s the full details, including how to get access once you’ve received the invite.
There’s still no word on a full release date for the New Xbox One Experience as yet.
