Surface Book UK pre-orders start at midnight

Microsoft has announced that UK customers can begin pre-ordering the much anticipated Surface Book as of midnight tonight.

Those wanting to get their hands on the company’s first ever Surface laptop hybrid can pre-order through the Microsoft Store as of 12.01am Tuesday morning.

You can also pre-order through Curry’s/PC World and prices start at £1,299.

The device will also be available to pre-order as of tomorrow in Austria, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand and Switzerland, and Australia.

Microsoft is aiming to take on Apple with its first ever Surface laptop which has been available in the US and Canada since it was first announced in early October.

The laptop-tablet hybrid boasts a 13.5-inch touchscreen display packing 6-million pixels, an optically-bonded screen to reduce glare and a ppi of 267.

It also features the latest Skylake Intel Core processors – either the i5 or i7 – paired with an Nvidia GeForce GPU with GDDR5 memory.
