Sony to unveil PlayStation Neo on September 7?
Earlier this week reports began to surface about Sony’s upcoming PlayStation Neo being launched next month, and now it seems those reports have been confirmed.
Sony has sent out invites to a PlayStation event on September 7, where we will likely be introduced to the new console.
The event will take place in New York City at 3PM ET (8pm BST), and is being held at the PlayStation Theatre.
Sony is remaining tight-lipped when it comes to any other details, saying only that it will ‘share details about the PlayStation business’ come September 7. Which couldn’t sound duller, but we remain hopeful.

We’re also unsure as to whether the company will reveal pricing details or a release date at the event.
The PlayStation Neo, also referred to as the PlayStation 4.5, will run 4K games and media. According to a recent report from Giant Bomb, the console will also feature an upgraded CPU, GPU, and increased RAM.
New games are expected to support both the standard PS4 and the new device, though not all will be made to run on the upgraded console.
Earlier this week, one source described the upcoming September event as a ‘technical showcase’ for Sony’s hardware, which could mean we’ll get to see some games running on the new console.
Although we still don’t know a release date for the Neo, our money’s on a pre-Christmas launch.
