Sony’s new Multifunctional Light is the smartest of all time
Sony has revealed a new smart light that can be programmed to trigger other items of connected home tech whenever someone enters the room.
The Multifunctional Light (via Engadget) can be hooked up to other smart home tech and features an abundance of sensors. So, for example, when the motion sensors pick up human presence, the light can turn on the television or activate your music player.
Thanks to the temperature and humidity sensors, it can even be hooked up to a connected thermostat to regulate the home environment.
The light, which can be connected to a smartphone or controlled via Wi-Fi, can be used as an alarm clock to gently wake the owner with light and sound, thanks to the built-in speaker.
If users are so inclined, it can even be programmed to play answer-phone messages whenever they walk into the room. The Multifunctional Light includes a built-in microphone, so, with more than one light, it can also be used as an intercom to chat to members of the household in other rooms.
All this, as well as lighting up a dark room.
