Sony awarded two TV honours at 2014 TrustedReviews Awards

Sony has staked its claimed to TV supremacy at the 2014 TrustedReviews Awards, winning two of a possible three categories.
Having faced stiff competition from the likes of LG, Samsung and Panasonic for the title of 2014 TV Brand of the Year, Sony has also received specific acclaim for the Sony KD-65X9005B our 2014 TV of the Year.
Getting between Sony and a clean sweep, however, was Samsung. The Korean manufacturer has made waves at the lower end of the TV space in 2014. Taking the title of the Best Value TV was the Samsung UE40H5500.
“The emergence of the flat panel TV has led us to neglect sound a little,” TrustedReviews Editor Evan Kypreos said. “While picture quality has improved immeasurably since the days of the cathode ray TVs, sound has actually taken a step backwards simply because speakers need space to perform well.
“That all changed this year with the excellent Sony KD-65X9005B.
He added: “There were some exceptional tellies from Samsung, Panasonic and LG this year, but the Sony KD-65X9005B is very special indeed.
With CES 2015 set to be held in a matter of weeks and the next era of high-end TVs ready to be introduced, we don’t have long to wait to see how Sony, and its rivals, plan to push things on next.
