Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 image leaks
A press render of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 has leaked onto the internet.
This image of Samsung’s next entry-level full-sized tablet follows on from a similar leak of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, which we saw last week.
As with that pre-emptive snap, the above image comes from arch tipster @evleaks. It shows a typically chunky all-white tablet, with the Samsung branding and three hardware buttons not-so-subtly directing you towards an ideal landscape orientation.
So far so Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. It’s a feeling we had when the Galaxy Tab 4 range specs appeared to be leaked back in February.
Based on those, we’re expecting the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 to sport the same 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 display as its predecessor. This was rather sub-par in 2013, so it’ll be even more so in 2014.
Still, there have been some performance gains under the hood, it seems. Expect to see the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 running on a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, and possibly backed by 1.5GB of RAM.
Storage should be handled by a combination of 16GB of onboard capacity and a microSD slot for expansion purposes. According to the previous spec leak, the rear camera should be an improved 8-megapixel example, while the front-facing camera (arguably the more important on a tablet) will be 3-megapixel.
All of this should make for a subtly improved – but still decidedly low-end – 10-inch tablet experience.
The Tab 4 range missed its expected MWC 2014 launch window, but we’re still expecting to see it officially unveiled some time over the coming weeks.
