Samsung Galaxy Surfboard could be the most ridiculous invention ever

There’s no denying that the Samsung Galaxy Surfboard is innovative – but it still looks ridiculous.
Yes, Samsung has actually created a “smart” surfboard powered that feeds surfers information on the fly. It’s powered by a Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphone that’s tucked away in a secret compartment, and has a built-in display that reels off tweets. Because who doesn’t want to trawl Twitter while surfing, right?
Samsung Brazil even shot a video of renowned surfer Gabriel Medina giving the Galaxy Surfboard a trial run, which you can check out below:
“The Galaxy Surfboard is a board that has a Samsung smartphone as its technological heart, allowing the world champion Gabriel Medina to receive technical instructions during training in real-time,” Samsung explains. “And to motivate you even more, the board can also receive messages of encouragement from the crowd via hashtags.”
But if you’re keen to bag a Galaxy Surfboard, it might not be that easy. Samsung hasn’t announced any plans to sell the device, which suggests it may just be a conceptual prototype – and that’s probably for the best.
