Samsung Galaxy S5 release date tipped for surprise January announcement
A Samsung Galaxy S5 release date could be with us a lot sooner than expected, with latest reports suggesting the phone could be unveiled in January.
With the existing Samsung Galaxy S4 said to be suffering from considerably lower sales than the manufacturer had anticipated, it has been reported that Samsung is to rush forward its Samsung Galaxy S5 release date in a bid to better compete with the likes of the iPhone 5S.
While we must stress that at present this is nothing more than a slightly speculative rumour and as such should be taken with a considerable pinch of salt, it is not the first time we have heard musings of an early S5 arrival.

Citing unnamed insider sources, the Korean reports have stated that “in January the image of the next-generation Galaxy S5 [will be] officially announced.” They added that “one month later, in February [it will] then go into full-scale sales.”
Expected to be a dramatic overhaul to the manufacturer’s flagship phone range, the Samsung Galaxy S5 has been rumoured to be the first S branded handset with a premium metal body in a bid to match the likes of the HTC One.
Elsewhere, Samsung has already confirmed that the phone will play host to a 64-bit processor after Apple confirmed the iPhone 5S was powered by the PC esque architecture. “Our next smartphones will have 64-bit processing functionality,” Samsung’s CEO of Mobile Shin Jong-Kyun said in a recent interview.
While further Samsung Galaxy S5 rumours have pointed to the phone being waterproof and dustproof as standard, Samsung has confirmed that the phone will not sport and integrated fingerprint scanner like some of its rivals.
