OnePlus 3 sample shots suggests camera may be killer feature

OnePlus continues to build anticipation for its forthcoming OnePlus 3 launch by showing off a series of photos shot on the device’s camera.

While we don’t yet know the official specs for the camera (15-megapixels has been rumoured), anticipant fans can now get a sense of what it’ll be capable of ahead of the official June 14 launch.

The snaps, posted to Twitter on Wednesday, show a variety of scenes including a supremely captured shot of the smartphone camera’s mortal enemy; fireworks.

There’s also a lovely mountain scene, a macro shot of some pebbles near a waterfront and a pretty dock scene capturing a passing bird in nice detail.

While it’s difficult to read too much into the photos, it might be a sign that OnePlus has placed more emphasis on perfecting its snapper this time around.

Within the OnePlus 2 sat a 13-megapixel camera with a larger light-sensitive pixels, dual LED flash and optical image stabilisation offering excellent image quality.

However, we criticised the slow shutter speed and the HDR mode which was “nowhere near subtle enough to use 24/7.”

In our review last year we wrote: “The hardware has bags of promise. Ultimately, it doesn’t quite reach the performance of the Samsung Galaxy S6 or LG G4, but it is capable of some excellent moves for a sub-£300 phone.”

Will the company do better this time around? Check out the sample photos below and let us know what you think.
