Official Apple Watch charging dock reportedly leaks

For reasons only known to itself, Apple is yet to release an official charging dock for the Apple Watch.

However, that looks certain to change in the near future, judging by leaked snaps that have leaked onto the web on Tuesday.

Photos of a “Magnetic Charging Dock” for Apple Watch were posted by grobgebloggt.de (via 9to5Mac), showing the packaging and the accessory itself.

It appears as though the circular device will enable watch owners to simply lay their device flat or on its side. The latter will be perfect for the new Nightstand Mode offered within the updated watchOS 2.0.

The new feature effectively turns the Apple Watch into a mini alarm clock, only showing the time and date. In this mode the Digital Crown and Contacts button act as on/off and snooze buttons.

The power is provided to the charging dock via a 2m Lightning cable and, according to the German blog, it’ll cost 89 Euros (around £62/$95) from the App Store when it is released.
