Lego’s new Women of NASA set is here and it’s all kinds of awesome
Lego has just given us our first look at its Women of NASA set – and it’s the perfect celebration of some of America’s trailblazing female scientists and astronauts.
Recognising the critical roles women have played throughout the history of the US space programme, the proposal was originally submitted to the Lego Ideas site by MIT News deputy editor Maia Weinstock. Now, it’s an official set scheduled to be released this November.

The featured women are astronomer Nancy G. Roman, who helped make the Hubble Space Telescope a reality; computer scientist Margaret Hamilton, who developed the flight software for the Apollo moon missions; astronaut Sally Ride, the first American woman in space; and physician Mae Jemison, the first African-American woman in space.
As well as the awesome mini-figurines of the pioneering women from the space agency, you get mini versions of the space shuttle Challenger and the Hubble Space Telescope as part of the 231-piece set.

Lego’s Women of NASA range gets lift-off on November 1 and will set you back $24.99 – around £20 based on the current exchange rate, but expect it to be closer to a like-for-like currency conversion, with UK pricing set closer to the £25 mark.
