Metal Gear Solid 5 has a sneaky P.T easter egg

Silent Hills may be gone, but not forgotten as players discover a PT Easter egg in Metal Gear Solid 5.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain was only released worldwide yesterday, but dedicated players are already discovering a number of Easter eggs.

One of the more interesting (and depressing) is one relating to cancelled survival horror title, Silent Hills, and it’s playable trailer – aka P.T..

The Easter egg can be found in a small tent inside the Ngumba Industrial Zone, located at the Angola-Zaire border is a small cassette player.

Inside the tent a radio will constantly loop the very same radio message found in P.T, with a few subtle differences this time around.

The announcer’s voice is no longer distorted, providing us with a clearer, but equally creepy glimpse at the events that took place within P.T.

Detailing the gruesome events of a domesticated murder, the radio message became an iconic part of P.T’s identity, and the reveal of Silent Hills.

The easter egg was discovered by Arekkz Gaming, a popular gaming channel on Youtube.

P.T was first released as playable teaser during Gamescom in September 2014, and led to the announcement of Silent Hills.

Silent Hills was to be a dream collaboration between Metal Gear creator, Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro, but was canned by Konami earlier this year.

The reason for the project’s cancellation is still unknown, though many believe it be a result of the fallout between Hideo Kojima and Konami.

Metal Gear Solid 5 will be the very last title in the franchise to be developed by Hideo Kojima and his development studio, Kojima Productions.

Hideo Kojima gave a heartfelt farewell to the series and his fans in a recent “Debriefing” video.

Despite Kojima’s departure, Konami have announced that they are planning to piece together a new team to develop future titles, much to fan’s disapproval

Metal Gear Solid will never be the same with Kojima, and the fact we will never be able to play Silent Hills makes us want to cry.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is now available for PS4, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. .
