Lumia 950 and 950 XL could be the first phones of the Windows 10 era

The Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL will be the first smartphones to arrive packing Windows 10 out of the box, according to reports emanating from China.
The IT Home website says the model names will be the official titles for the devices previously known by their codenames Talkman and Cityman.
The site’s source (via Pocket-Lint) has also dropped a number of specs for the devices it says will arrive in October or November.
The Lumia 950 (Talkman) will venture into the world rocking quite the array of high end specifications, according to the report.
A 5.2-inch 2K screen will be powered by a six-core Snapdragon 808 and 3GB of RAM. In terms of power, there’ll be a 3000mAh battery pack (removable) and Type-C USB connectivity.
The cameras will be 20-megapixel and 5 megapixel respectively, while the 32GB of internal storage will be supplemented by MicroSD support.
The larger version of the device, the Lumia 950 XL (codenamed Cityman) could feature a 5.7-inch screen with a slightly larger battery (3300mAh). The Snapdragon 810 is said to sit under the hood too.
Microsoft is on record as saying the smartphone iteration of Windows 10, complete with Universal apps, will be rolled out some time after the software hits PCs, so a late autumn release sounds about right.

The Lumia 950 (imagined above by concept artist The Phone Designer) and 950 XL are likely to front a much smaller stable of handsets, as the company scales back its smartphone hardware operation.
Microsoft recently cut 7,800 jobs and wrote off $7.6bn in losses from the Nokia purchase and reports say as few as 6 smartphones are currently planned for launch.
