LG hints at more flexible smartphones to follow LG G Flex
Following the introduction of the LG G Flex, LG has teased that it will launch more flexible screened smartphones in the future.
With the LG G Flex having landed as an industry first, thanks to a 6-inch vertically curved screen that hugs the curve of your face during use, the Korean manufacturer has used its CES 2014 press conference to offer a not so subtle hint to its future curved smartphone plans, stating “flexible technology is the future.”
“
Ahn’s comments were backed up by Frank Lee, LG’s Head of Mobile Communications who stated: “At LG we believe curved is better.”
He added: “We didn’t make G Flex for the sake of being different, it offers real tangible benefits. The LG G Flex is the shape of innovation.”
Having today confirmed that the LG G Flex will launch in the US during Q1 2014, LG recently revealed that the flexible phone will also be heading to UK retailers in the coming months.
In our recent hands-on LG G Flex review, we described the handset as: “More than just a gimmick.”
Of the handset which was crowned the Innovation of the Year at the 2013 TrustedReviews Awards we added: “As with all new technologies, it might still be a bit raw to tempt many to jump in early, but LG should be applauded for the engineering and design innovation at work here. It’s the kind of phone makes us excited about phones again. “
