Karbonn Sparkle V Android One handset hits the UK

Karbonn has introduced the first Android One handset to the UK, launching the Sparkle V through online seller Amazon.

Despite Google’s Android One programme being designed to bring impressive smartphone offerings to emerging markets at affordable price tags, the Karbonn Sparkle V Android One handset is now available in the fully developed UK.

We are pleased to be launching this device to the UK,” Deborshi Sarkar, Head of Sales at Karbonn’s European partner Santok stated.

“It really is an impressive smartphone and offers consumers something very different in terms of price, but retains the highest quality in its design and form.”

Karbonn Sparkle V Features
As you would expect from an Android One handset, the Sparkle V runs Google’s mobile OS. Powered by Android 4.4 KitKat direct from the box, the device has been tipped to receive a Lollipop-flavoured update by the start of January.

Software aside, the Sparkle V features a familiar array of mid-range specs.

Pairing a 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, the Sparkle V adds a 5-megapixel rear-mounted camera and 1GB of RAM.

While just 4GB of internal storage is available, the handset can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD.

Although the Sparkle features a less than lustrous finish, the handset is available in white, red and blue colour schemes.

Karbonn Sparkle V Release Date and Price
The Karbon Sparkle V is available to buy in the UK right now. Exclusively available through Amazon until the end of the year, the handset will set wannabe owners back just £129.99.

For those looking to spend even less on their next handset, listen up. To celebrate tomorrow’s Black Friday events, the Android One device will be offered for just £99 for 24 hours.
