The iPhone cable that can tow a car

For those tired of flimsy iPhone charge cables a new Indiegogo campaign claims to have the answer.

Echo, the team behind the IronWire iPhone cable project, claim to have created “the strongest licensed cable at the most affordable price”.

And it certainly seems to live up to this claim. The IronWire cable, which uses the Lightning connector, is so strong that it can be used in a variety of unlikely situations such as towing a Mini.

Check out the video below where the team put the cable to the test.

The cable comes with a lifetime warranty and Echo is eager to stress that this will be the only iPhone cable you will ever need (unless Apple changes its connection type again of course).

At 1.5 metres (5ft) long, it uses braided nylon for extra strength and is fully licensed by Apple’s Made For iPhone certification program.

It even has LED lights that let you know when your phone is fully charged and can be used for both charging and syncing.

Echo is aiming to sell the cable for $10 (£6.50) and so far have hit $4,000 of their $50,000 fundraising target.

The Indiegogo campaign, which launched on October 21, will be running for 60 days and can be found here.
