Huawei Ascend P2 video hands on
Huawei has launched its new Huawei Ascend P2 handset, aimed to target the upper mid-range smartphone market with 4G LTE capabilities and 4.7-inch display.
Playing host to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with Huawei’s Emotion UI 1.6, the Huawei Ascent benefits from some speed increases by opting not to pack the latest Google OS and a display similar to the Apple iOS.
Huawei Ascend P2 features
The Huawei Ascend P2 deliberately shies away from the top end range of smartphones, offering a 720p resolution 4.7-inch display within a stylish plastic-bodied sharp-edged body with silver trim just 8.4mm thick.
Running Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean coupled with Huawei’s Emotion UI 1.6, the Huawei Ascend P2 comes complete with animated transitions and custom icons and a few new features such as Smart Reading. Akin to the functionality of the Apple Mac, Smart Reading allows you to translate a word or look it up on the web or Wikipedia when you select it.
Powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor with 1 GB of RAM and offering a 13-megapixel camera draws it in line with the snapper of the Sony Xperia Z. The rear camera also provides HDR video capture.
Completing the Huawei’s offerings is NFC and 4G connectivity and 16GB of internal memory.
