Hotline Miami 2 level editor inbound

The Hotline Miami 2 level editor is finally coming this December, much to the delight of fans.

We’ve been waiting to create our own murder-mazes in Hotline Miami 2 for nearly seven months, when the developer stated the level creation tools were “pretty close to completion”.

Finally, a date has been put on a release date for the level creation tools – but sadly it’s only a beta.

Although there’s been an unofficial back-door workaround for level creation in the game for months, come December 10 the official beta will begin.

It’s only launching on Steam for the time being sadly, and it won’t support Steam Workshop for the time being.

However, the level desinger will include all content from the base game, but you won’t be able to stick your own music in your maps due to copyright issues when it comes to sharing.

It’s a bit sad through, as the music is a big part of what makes a great Hotline Miami level.

There is an N.B when it comes to the Hotline Miami 2 level creator beta. Apparently there’s no guarantee that anything you make in it will eventually work in the final release version.

We recommend you just tinker around with it and don’t spend days making an excellent level only to have it deleted in the near future.

The level creator will be open to anyone who owns the Windows version of the game.
