Halo: Reach doesn’t perform too well on the Xbox One

Players are reporting a number of performance problems when playing Halo: Reach on Xbox One.

Halo: Reach is now available through the Xbox One’s backward compatibility feature, but it seems to be experiencing a few problems.

The emulated version is currently subject to a number of framerate issues, failing to run above 20FPS in certain areas.

“It’s unplayable! I’m getting 10-20 FPS whereas my 360 runs it at a smooth 25-30 FPS” said a post in the Halo Waypoint forums.

Many players on Reddit are also reporting problems relating to framerate and general performance.

Halo: Reach doesn’t appear to be completely unplayable on Xbox One, although the original 360 version is your best option until Microsoft patch things up.

Microsoft has issued a statement to Kotaku regarding the game, and are aware of Reach’s performance problems:

“We’re aware some users are experiencing issues playing Halo: Reach via Xbox One backward compatibility. The Xbox engineering team is currently looking into the issues and are working to address them,” the statement reads.

The company plans to add more games and improve emulation performance in the future.

If you own an original 360 game that is supported by the Xbox One, all you have to do is pop it in your console and you’re good to go.
