GTA Online just had its best week yet

Rockstar’s GTA Online continues to grow in terms of both players and revenue for publisher Take-Two Interactive.
GTA Online may have debuted over two years ago, but it continues to grow through frequent content updates and a passionate fanbase.
Speaking in a recent earnings briefing, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said players continue to be “highly engaged” with GTA Online.
The company did not mention any specific figures, but happily noted that GTA Online recently experienced its best week yet in terms of revenue and player activity.
On average, the game attracts 8 million or so players every week, which is damn impressive.

Released as the online component to Grand Theft Auto 5 back in 2013, GTA Online allows players to explore the city of Los Santos with friends to compete in a variety of game modes.
Since launch, the title has received significant content updates; including the highly anticipated online heists.
To play GTA Online is completely free, however, it does contain a few optional microtransactions.

GTA Online pulls in so much money, it’s no surprise Rockstar hasn’t bothered to release any single-player DLC for the game.
Rockstar also announced recently that Grand Theft Auto 5 has shipped over 60 million copies across all platforms.
