Glitch causing Samsung Smart TVs to repeatedly reboot

A number of Samsung Smart TVs appear to have been struck down by a software bug, causing the sets to repeatedly reboot.
According to Samsung, a firmware update sent out on Sunday has resulted in spontaneous and continual issues for some consumers.
The Korean firm says (via Recode) the TVs are rebooting in an effort to correct a problem, but it currently isn’t working.
In the meantime the company has offered a temporary fix of turning off the HDMI-CEC Anynet feature or performing a full factory reset.

While the issue has resurfaced due to Sunday’s update, it appears to be a recurring problem for Samsung, with customers complaining of the issue last year.
Some have reverted to severe means to correct the issue over the last year, but in this case Samsung says a fix is on the way.
One poster on the CNET Samsung forum wrote: “The TV will freeze and restart then stuck in the loop over and over again. I read countless forums trying to troubleshoot this dilemma.”
