Far Cry Primal will have no co-operative play
Far Cry Primal will include no online co-op or multiplayer of any kind, Ubisoft has confirmed.
Ubisoft’s latest Far Cry game will have plenty of prehistoric beasties for you to contend with, but you won’t able to hunt them with friends this time.
Far Cry Primal, the latest game in the long running franchise, will not offer support for co-op play, opting instead to focus on the single player campaign.
Writing in the official Steam forum, community manager Jason Paradise explained Ubisoft’s decision to ditch co-op.
“We are focusing entirely on creating the best possible Far Cry experience for our fans. Bringing the Stone Age to life and providing players with a strong gameplay experience based off of the Far Cry legacy meant we had to reinvent our core gameplay loop.” Paradise explained (via Destructoid).

The removal of the mode clearly wasn’t an easy decision for Ubisoft, as it played a significant part in previous games.
“This was definitely not a small undertaking,” Paradise said. “Our focus was on delivering this fantasy which required clear priorities for the team. Therefore, in the early stages of the project, we made the difficult choice of focusing our efforts on the single-player experience.
2014’s Far Cry 4 placed a large focus on online co-op, giving the players the option to play with friends who didn’t even own the game.
