Destiny companion app launched prior to beta
The Destiny companion app has been launched for Android and iOS ahead of the beta this month.
Launching for both tablets and smartphones, the Destiny app acts as a companion for the main game, offering stats, lore and other social features.
All you need to do to access the full app is sign into your Microsoft, PlayStation, Facebook or google account.
When you’ve done that, and authenticated it with Bungie.net, you’ll be able to see full 3D rendered models of your customised character and rotate them to check out the full armour.
There’s a special Gear screen that lets you have access to your characters’ inventory on your smartphone or tablet, so you can equip items, customise your weapon loadout and all changes are automatically applied in-game.
If you’re looking to keep tabs on you current quests or activities, including all your bounties, rewards, strikes and more, then you can head to the Advisors screen.
You can also view your character’s legend and grimore (magic textbook) within the app as well.
All your player stats are also kept up to date in remarkable detail, as they were in Bungie’s Halo series.
The Destiny beta starts tomorrow, July 17 on the PS4 and PS3. It will then become available to Xbox One and Xbox 360 gamers from July 23, with access open until July 27.
From earlier rumours, it looks like the Destiny beta will offer four story chapters, four competitive multiplayer apps and a cooperative Strike mode, among other never seen before features.
