Google has brought its Dev channel to Android, meaning that you can now use the most advanced preview version of Chrome on your smartphone.
Google’s Dev channel has historically been available on Windows, Mac, Linux, and ChromeOS – any popular modern desktop OS, essentially.
Now, however, Google has announced on its Chromium blog that it has brought its experimental channel to Android.
This means that you’ll be able to try out the latest version of the Chrome browser on your Android smartphone. Like the Dev channel on desktop platforms, it will be updated every week at the very least.
Because of its less-than-finished and often unstable nature, the Dev version of Chrome will install alongside the latest final version, so you’ll have to make do with two of those little multi-coloured symbols hanging around your app folder.
The purpose of the Dev channel is essentially to let developers test out their websites using an early, pre-final version of Chrome, Google’s popular web browser. This allows said developers to iron out any bugs and trial cutting edge features before they roll out to everyone in a final Chrome version.
The Chrome Dev channel is separate from the Chrome Beta releases you might be familiar with, offering even more advanced (but less stable) features.

As always, this is a development tool first and foremost, so Google will be please to accept feedback on any issues with the latest Chrome beta.
