Call of Duty: Heroes out today on iOS and Windows 8 devices

A new Call of Duty game is out now on iOS and Windows Phone devices.

Called Call of Duty: Heroes, it lets you step into the jackboots of some of the most legendary characters from the Modern Warfare and Black Ops II instalments of the Call of Duty series. Characters include Captain Price, Soap MacTavish, and Mike Harper.

The game lets you train elite forces, customise your base, and engage enemies in fierce battles. All while on the bus.

You start by taking control of a small outpost, which you must build up into an impenetrable base. Set up sentry guns, SAM turrets, mines and more to protect your troops.

While in battle, you can utilise all manner of infantry and drones, including Juggernauts, Dragonfires and CLAWs. Know a friend who’s also playing? Form an alliance and take on the bad guys together. Or if he or she is struggling, you can donate troops.

Jeremiah Maza, executive producer at Activision, said in a statement: “Call of Duty: Heroes brings back these iconic characters from across the Call of Duty franchise to play once again in an all-new experience created for mobile players. And it’s all focussed on the fun. There’s nothing like calling in heavyweights like Captain Price or Mike Harper and rolling into a new mission right from your phone or tablet.”

The game is free on both Windows Store and Apple’s App Store. It’s coming soon to Android, both on Google Play and the Amazon Appstore.
