Beyond: Two Souls demo launches on PSN

The official Beyond: Two Souls demo has launched on the PlayStation Network, offering gamers a lengthy preview at the new Quantic Dream title.

Quantic Dream has made the demo available to download now from the PSN, with the preview described by Sony as “a generous trial of the game.”

Ahead of the October 8 Beyond: Two Souls release date, Quantic Dream is allowing gamers to enjoy two levels of the game within the demo.

The first level lets gamers control a young Jodie as she “takes part in a experiment at the Department of Paranormal Activities”, allowing fans to test Aiden’s powers too.

Pushing on in the storyline, the second level skips forward a number of years so that gamers will have to aid Jodie as she attempts to “escape the clutches of government agents as the mysterious entity unleashes its truly astonishing powers.”

Quantic Dream is offering quite a chunk of gameplay as a preview to excite fans with just under a week to go before the Beyond: Two Souls release date.

Sony has revealed that the European version of Beyond: Two Souls has been slightly amended to ensure the game could achieve a PEGI 16 rating.

“There are only two amends between the EU and US versions of the game, amounting to about 5-10 seconds of gameplay that’s not been removed, just edited slightly,” explained Ross Alexander, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe EMEA brand manager. “I can assure you that this does not affect the game’s story at all, and that if you didn’t know these scenes had been amended, you wouldn’t even notice.”

Beyond: Two Souls is the third game from Quantic Dream, following on from the success of Heavy Rain, another PS3 exclusive.

The game features a star studded cast, with Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe playing protagonists Jodie Holmes and Nathan Dawkins.
