If you’re unimpressed with your iPhone’s battery life, Apple has a quick – and expensive – solution.
Apple has announced the Smart Battery Case, designed to extend the battery life of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S smartphones.
It’s the first ever case developed by Apple that featured an integrated battery pack.
Apple says the new iPhone case offers an impressive 25 hours of extended usage.
“The Smart Battery Case is engineered specifically for iPhone 6S and iPhone 6, to give you even longer battery life and protection,” explains Apple.
“The soft microfiber lining on the inside helps protect your iPhone, while the soft elastomer hinge design makes it easy to put the case on and take it off again,” the iPhone maker continues. “On the outside, the silky, soft-touch finish of the silicone exterior feels great in your hand.”
The case is available in two separate colours – Charcoal Grey and White – and can be delivered to your home for free.
But there’s a serious caveat – the Apple Smart Battery Case price is £79. That’s a hefty fee for a product already offered by a number of third-parties at lower pricing.
That said, Apple has a good reputation for building quality products, and has a very competitive after-sales care program.
The Smart Battery Case supports all of Apple’s Lightning accessories, including the iPhone Lightning Dock.
It’s worth noting that the iPhone Lock screen will also display an “intelligent battery status” to let you know how much charge is left with the added battery included.
