Amazon launches Prime Same Day delivery service in Greater London
Amazon has launched a new Prime Same Day initiative in the UK that sees free same day deliveries for Prime customers.
If you’re all paid up on your £79.99 per year Prime subscription and you live in the Great London area, you can now opt for free same-day deliveries on around a million items when you checkout on Amazon.
As long as you get the order in before noon, on any day of the week, you’ll receive your delivery between 6pm and 10pm that same day.
The catchment area for Prime Same Day might sound a little vague. Basically if you live inside the M25, you’re covered. The new Prime Same Day offer also extends to parts of Hertfordshire and Berkshire – anywhere with an AL, HP, or SL postcode, essentially.
Amazon says that it will expand into a number of other areas of the UK in the coming months.
You might be thinking that Amazon has already brought this service to London (as well as Birmingham). If so, you’re probably thinking of Amazon Prime Now, which arrived in June.

Amazon Prime Now is a little different in that you can get one-hour deliveries for a £6.99 fee. The selection of items is also a lot more limited at around 10,000.
All in all, if you’re a Prime subscriber living near the UK’s capital city, you should be in for a very convenient Christmas.
