Amazon Prime Now one-hour deliveries come to London

Amazon has brought its Amazon Prime Now one-hour delivery service to London, marking its first venture outside of the US.

The UK has long been Amazon’s second market – the place it brings its new services to after they’ve been properly established on home turf.

That trend has continued with Amazon Prime Now, the company’s super-fast delivery service. It’s been available in select US cities since December of last year, and now it’s available in London.

Amazon Prime Now offers speedy delivery on 10,000 items from across the spectrum, all of which are being stored in the company’s East London fulfilment centre.

The service allows you to get your chosen products within the hour for an additional charge of £6.99. Alternatively, you can select a same-day two-hour delivery window at no additional cost.

Naturally you need to be an Amazon Prime member to make use of this new service, as well as being based in the inner London area. Amazon claims that it’ll hit more of London and other UK cities by the end of the year.

You’ll also need the Amazon Now app, which is available now on Android and iOS. This will reveal if your postcode is covered by the Amazon Now service, and if not, you can register to be notified when it is.

If you’re in an eligible part of London, you can get £20 off your first Amazon Now order of £50 or more by typing in LONDONNOW at the checkout.
