Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet is under $50 in the US, but you’ll have to be quick

Amazon is heavily discounting its Fire HD 8 tablet, but you’ll need to be quick in order to snap up the slate.

The Fire HD 8 tablet is just $49.99 for today only. That’s a $30 (38%) saving on the usual asking price of $79.99.

The tablet has a 12-hour battery life with a 1280 x 800 display.

For this price you’ll get 16GB of storage (which can be boosted with a 256GB microSD card), and you’ll have you put up with ‘special offers’ advertising from Amazon.

BUY NOW: Amazon Fire 8 HD tablet for $49.99 (save $30)

The Fire HD 8 is available in black, canary yellow, marine blue and punch red.

At this discounted price, the slate is the same price as Amazon’s base 7-inch offering.

We gave the Fire HD 8 a solid 7/10 review last summer, praising its low price, decent battery life and great integration with Amazon Prime.

It lost points for its ad-riddled interface, slow performance and the very poor camera.

Our own mobile editor Max Parker said it was “perhaps the best sub-£100 tablet, as long as you can stomach the heavy-handed Amazon software.”
