Asus Eee PC 901 20G Linux Edition

Huge thanks for the review. I am dizzy with trying to find gear to take on our 4th tour of the USA on a motorbike. I have read reviews on camcorders, Archos products and GPS products - about 7 hours today.
My initial instincts were for the Asus 901 and a Dogcam Sony HQ1 bullet camera and a DV500 unit. Then someone recommended the Archos 504 and initially that sounded like the perfect solution. One item (with helmet camera), all the requirements.
Now I am back at square one. Happily. My instincts were right.
I decided on the Asus Eee 901 because of it´s size, battery life, simplicity and SOLID STATE - so no problems with the vibration of the bike. I chose the Dogcam set-up for the same reason - plus the spouted excellent quality of the video (could you do a review?)
Of course, a 10,000 mile trip (our last 2 year´s we have averaged these miles) will generate a heck of a lot of photos and video, so I will need a portable hard drive for storage (looking at the Western Digital Passport 250Gb) (can you do a review?).
I am very grateful and appreciative of you guys reviewing the plethora of stuff out there and helping us folk choose wisely.

Sorry, a couple more questions. I will buy the Asus in the UK = UK plug /240V. Will I be able to buy a USA charger ie 110V or will I need a step-down transformer? Will I be able to transfer photos and video easily to my Mac PC - iMovie, iPhoto etc?

I bought the Linux version of the 901 just because of the 20GB hard drive. I just got it today! And already formatted it and put windows xp on it. Tomorrow it will be booting windows 7 also. I really LOVE this thing! I keep hitting the 2 button every time I try to hit the 1 key. (because of its placing. I will get used to it) I had the HP Mini, but didnt like it. I returned it and got the 1000H. Didn't like the 4 cell battery and normal 2.5 hard drive sucking the battery life out of it. So I got this. I LOVE IT! If you need discs for the 1000H or the 901, I am uploading them right now! So if you lost your disc to put all the drivers on your computer, or your Xandros linux disc, message me and I will send you the link!

hey josh, ive actually had the 20gb linux version for about 4 months. i love this computer and use it everyday, but i still dont love the linux software. i have looked on plenty of sites, and you are the first person that i have found that is switchingg to windows. is there any way you could help me in how to format the pc for an xp install?... just if you have the time and patience. it would mean alot...THANKS
